Roos Relaxed About Pies Hoodoo

FOR A man who found a smile and a joke immediately after losing the 2006 grand final by a point, it's hardly surprising that Sydney coach Paul Roos unveiled a positive from his team's disappointing loss to Collingwood at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night.
After joking that he was considering going home at half-time, Roos then addressed the loss to a team that truly has the wood over his: "At least we don't have to play them next week or the week after."We thought we planned well but obviously that didn't work and it was probably the same script as the last three (times they have played). At the moment, clearly they feel pretty comfortable playing against us. "We've still got to play them again this year, so we'll have to change a few things". "We're 9.5 wins, and we've got Hawthorn next week. We're in pretty good shape and we live to fight another day." Dale Thomas has never not lost to the Swans in five matches against them, but said the streak did not mean Collingwood went into matches against the Swans with any extra confidence. "Obviously they probably know what they have been doing wrong and they probably over-analyse the games. We just treat it as another game." Defender Craig Bolton, who marked Thomas for part of the match, didn't agree that his side over-analysed the clashes. "They have definitely got the wood over us . . . but we'll move on and then, the next time we play them we'll address the situation and hopefully turn it around." -- MICHAEL COWLEY
