SATURDAY night's sudden death semi-final between St Kilda and Collingwood was set to draw a massive crowd, the AFL said yesterday.

With 57,636 tickets sold for the game by yesterday, and the weather bureau predicting warm, fine spring conditions, the AFL was hopeful of a crowd of up to 80,000, spokesman Patrick Keane said.

"Saturday night's tracking to be an extremely strong crowd," he said.

Keane said the final number would depend largely on the number of MCC members who attended on the night, as the seating in the members' stand is open to walk-up customers.

Ticket sales for tomorrow night's semi between the Bulldogs and Sydney are also going relatively strongly, with 34,082 tickets sold by yesterday. Keane said this meant a crowd of 50,000-55,000 appeared likely.
