Double-glazed windows kept out traffic noise on Hoddle Street, but after opening with a vendor bid of $500,000, auctioneer Nathan Gibson found there was not a sound from the 20-person crowd, either. One man nearly bought the property after putting his hand up when Gibson asked, "Who here barracks for Collingwood?". But even asking for a rise of $500 didn't elicit bids and the property passed in after a second vendor bid of $520,000. The reserve is $565,000.
