COLLINGWOOD has re-signed three more of its young guns, ensuring it will retain the nucleus of its rebuilt side until at least the end of the decade.

The club yesterday announced new contracts for budding defenders Nathan Brown and Tyson Goldsack, and a contract extension for midfielder Dane Swan.

Brown, who was nominated for the Rising Star Award this week, has signed on with the club for three more years, while Goldsack is on board for two more years and Swan has extended his contract until the end of 2010.

Collingwood's chief of football operations, Geoff Walsh, said the club was very happy with the new deals.

"We're delighted to have the boys recommit to us, it's terrific," he said.

The three re-signings are in addition to the club's recent announcement that it had sealed new agreements with developing forward Ben Reid (two years) and defender Harry O'Brien (three). The Pies are also in negotiations with the injured Brad Dick.

The re-signings protect the bulk of the Magpies' 2006 draft intake until the end of 2010. Reid was the Magpies' first selection at No.8, with Brown selected at No. 10, Goldsack at 63. O'Brien came off the rookie list. O'Brien and Brown are now locked in with the club until 2011, keeping them safe from the new Gold Coast team. -- NICK SHERIDAN
