FORMER Collingwood defender Jason Cloke believes he has one last hope of resurrecting his AFL career, despite being out of the system for two seasons.
The older brother of Collingwood's Travis and Carlton's Cameron Cloke said during the week that this year's draft was his "last chance" of continuing his AFL career after thriving in a new forward role at Williamstown. The 26-year-old said he spoke with four AFL clubs last season, with Essendon showing the most interest, after a season with Bendigo Bombers under then-coach Matthew Knights. The son of David Cloke said he had been "shattered" to be delisted at the end of 2006 after being drafted to the Pies under the father-son rule in 2000 and playing 76 games."Sometimes you're thinking, there's guys that aren't doing much at VFL level and getting AFL games occasionally and you're thinking you could be still out there and getting a kick," Cloke said."I love getting an opportunity to run around. I've got a good fitness base so playing up forward is really good."Cloke has been one of the Seagulls' best this season, presenting as a marking option on the wing and up forward.
