THE AFL is expecting a bumper crowd for tonight's sudden-death semi-final between StKilda and Collingwood at the MCG.

With 63,000 tickets sold as of yesterday, and fine weather predicted for today, AFL spokesman Patrick Keane said the league expected a crowd of between 75-80,000.

"Any crowd approaching 80,000 is a fantastic crowd and that's what it looks to be tracking towards at this point," Keane said yesterday.

Much of the final figure is now dependent on the number of walk-up spectators for tonight's game, with MCC members set to make up a large component.

"Good weather, a knockout final, Saturday night - it's got all the hallmarks of a good game and we expect members to support it in good numbers," said MCC spokesman Shane Brown.

Collingwood has the second highest level of support among MCC members, on a par with Essendon, but behind Melbourne.
